A young energetic wine that is intended to be drunk young in order to benefit from the wonderful fruity flavours and nose. A friend once told Marc Valette that this was effectively the beaujolais nouveau of Canet Valette and there is something in that. Antonyme is an excellent and pleasurable wine, it is to be drunk young, especially in the summer, in large gulps in order to benefit from the healthy, ripe grapes which convey the taste of the domain having been nurtured with great respect for the land on which it is grown.
In French Marc says “Qui peut le plus peut le moins”. This is notoriously difficult to tranlate to english as a phrase but essentially says that if you can do great things successfully, you can do simple things successfully. Antonyme is not exactly simple but is certainly less complex that his other wines and is definitely worth a try.
